Wale dropped his album Ambitiion at the top of the month and sold 160K copies in the first week. He talks with Billboard about the advice he received from Jay-Z and how he went hard to get his album Ambition to the top of the charts to peak at #2 spot its first week.
Jay-Z, essentially, is my business adviser, Him, my manager, Rich Kleinman and Roc Nation's John Meneilly. I know Jay has a personal place in his heart for Ambition. I remember one time I was on the phone with Jay, asking him, 'What did I do [wrong]? What can I do differently?' He was like, 'Maybe you just didn't come with that single. You made a solid first album. But you didn't come up with that single.' That just added fuel to my fire."
He also spoke on his relentless grind and how Ambition, which bowed at number two on the charts, has inspired him to work even harder.
"Rappers used to take pride in being the best or becoming the best. Now they just talk about who has the most swag. But who wants to be the best?, Come to the table with your albums. I nailed it this time. I'll keep busting my ass until . . . you're going to have to respect me. I love hip-hop so much, and I'm really a humble dude. We're all cocky inside our records-because that's how rap is."
Cam’ron drops a new video for his track Bang Bang. This joint is off his upcoming mixtape Boss of All Bosses 3 which releases on December 16th. Killa got some movie drama going on towards the end. I can’t wait to see the continuation.
Cassidy drops a new joint titled Watcha Gonna Do off his upcoming mixtape Apply Pressure 3. Sounds like a Swizz Beatz track, but we know they ain’t hanging tough right now so it’s unlikely.

The director Mark Nistico shared the official movie trailer for Blue Collar Boys with me. Back in May I attended a screening for the film and its definitely a great movie. On December 12th Blue Collar Boys will have another screening event at the New York New Filmmaker’s Film Festival which will take place at the Anthology Cinema on 32 2nd Ave at 2nd Street in downtown NYC.
It’s the story of a blue collar household trying to make ends meet as they are met with obstacles which forces the family to make tough decisions. Staying above water isn’t always easy and when you’re drowning there’s not many options left at that point.
In Canada at the Toronto Film Festival the Blue Collar Boys movie won the Best Micro-Budget Feature Film award. It’s always great to see someone reach success when there’s a personal connection with the project. Congratulations to Mark and the cast/crew. Wish you all the best!

I’m surprised 50 Cent let him out of his contract. There is some speculation that Young Buck may have signed to YMCMB. If Young Money is Buck’s new home then it might be the right place to revive his career.

"We ain't gonn'a do that. I'm the only one in my family that's gonna take a lick when it pertains to the legal system. Since me, none of my other family members have seen a jail cell. Nobody. I'm the last one. The buck stops here. I feel that a person that stands behind [his woman for a criminal charge] is a coward anyway."
I doubt she would have gotten any time. She wasn't gonna catch it period, 'cause I'm there. That wasn't even a consideration. Even if she asked me to I would've been like, "Nah, you trippin'. "
So you didn't feel you were more valuable to your family, employees and business partners on the street? That's a discussion between me and another man. Not with the mother of my children. Not with the nurturer of my household.
