Jay Z 40/40 Club Shuts Down Again One Day After Grand Re-Opening Posted: 23 Jan 2012 04:34 AM PST The 40/40 is dirty dirty! One day after having its star studded grand re-opening the 40/40 Club owned and operated by famed rapper Jay-Z was shut down by the health inspection department for being given a degraded “C” on the club’s inspection test. Wednesday night Jigga and his wife Beyonce partied the night away with a big list of celebrities including Warren Buffett. The big spender $10 million dollar night was to celebrate the re-opening of his 40/40 club in New York City. On Thursday night, New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene found perishable food at dangerously warm temperatures inside the walk-in refrigerator and discovered "hot" food left out on the counter. In addition, one employee was seen mixing salsa with his bare hands, no gloves or anything. One refrigerator had a temperature of 60 degrees, when it should be at 41. This had serious potential to spoil some of the food. Pounds of cooked mashed potatoes were left out at 89 degrees temperature and cooked meats were left out at 67 degrees. Any hot foods need to be served at least 140 degrees, otherwise you run the high risk of food poisoning. A rep for the club, Ron Berkowitz says “it was a big misunderstanding” the code violations have been rectified and the club has been permitted to re-open its doors once again. Berkowitz says no business has been lost in a result of this. |
