Chris Kelly Drug Overdose and Abuse

It’s being reported that former Kriss Kross group member, Chris Kelly aka Mac Daddy, may have passed away due to a concoction of drugs he took the night before.  It’s said he had been speedballing, which is a mixture of cocaine and heroin.  An autoposy has yet to be performed, but according to the mother and uncle of the 34-year old rapper, they told authorities Chris had a long history of drug use.  #RestInPeace

Kriss Kross Member Chris Kelly Dies At 34

Posted: 01 May 2013 08:52 PM PDT

Chris Kelly Mac Daddy Dies for Unknown Reasons

Sadly, Kriss Kross member Chris Kelly (Mac Daddy) was found unresponsive at his Georgia home.  Investigator Betty Honey of the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office said Kelly was pronounced dead around 5 p.m. Wednesday at the south campus of the Atlanta Medical Center.  Authorities are unsure of Kelly’s cause of death.  An autopsy is planned for Thursday.

The 90′s rapper was one of the youngest of his time.  At the age of 13 him and his partner, Chris Smith (Daddy Mac) sold out shows and rocked the stage.  Jermaine Dupri found the duo in 1991 and signed them to his record label So So Def. They were known for wearing their clothing backwards.

In 1992 they dropped a hit single Jump.  They followed up with another single, Warm It Up then released their debut album Totally Krossed Out.  They continued their rap career until 1996.  Recently, So So Def reunited in Atlanta and Kris Kross was in attendance.  Kelly seemed to be in good spirits.

The good die young.  Rest in peace.
