Jay-Z Starts Roc Nation Sports Managemennt Agency

Roc Nation Sports is now official.  The partnership between Jay-Z flagship company, Roc Nation and CAA, has went down today to form Roc Nation Sports.  The first client for the new company is none other than NY Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano.

Jigga has taken his brand to new heights with this move.  Now as a sports agency he can manage the careers of athletes just as he does with artist.  This is a tremendous leap for the New York native, but it may cost him.  It’s said, if he takes Roc Nation Sports on as a full fledged sports agency then  he’ll have to relinquish his ownership in Brooklyn Nets.

Jay-Z says,

"Because of my love of sports, it was a natural progression to form a company where we can help top athletes in various sports the same way we have been helping artists in the music industry for years."

Cano adds:

"At this point in my career, I am ready to take a more active role in my endeavors on and off the field. I am confident that the pairing of Roc Nation Sports and CAA Sports will be essential in helping me accomplish my short- and long-term goals. I am making this important decision now so I can keep my focus on helping the Yankees succeed in 2013, while minimizing any distractions for me and my teammates."

Kid Cudi Announces He Is No Longer Signed To G.O.O.D. Music

G.O.O.D. Music Drops Kid Cudi

G.O.O.D. Music is no longer the home for artist Kid Cudi as he sits down with Power 106 and tells DJ Felli Fel and Yesi Ortiz.  He says he’s left the label, but there is no hard feelings with Kanye West or anyone else in the group, but the separation was needed so he can focus on his own endeavors, Wicked Awesome and King Chip.  Good luck to the Cudi!!!  Wish him well.  His upcoming album, Indicud, drops on April 23rd.

Cudi says,

“This is something no one knows really. Me and Kanye were talking on the phone the other day. These are things that I’ve been wanting to talk to him about…about me starting my own direction. And he got it because you know he’s trying to start his new path. Trying new things as an artist. He was like ‘man, I feel you.’ He’s like ‘well, it’s cool.’ I wanna focus on Wicked Awesome. I wanna focus on [King] Chip, that’s it. I don’t want to have a full label of artists. I just wanna work on Chip and keep my sound going on the Cudi train. This is just from a business standpoint. There's no beef. There’s no problem with anyone on the label. It's all love."
